Press Release: SQL Effects Announces new release SQL Accord, the Database Comparison Tool
For immediate release.
SQL Accord MS Edition 1.3.0 Released
Orange County - California, September 19th, 2005 - SQL Effects Software today announced availability of a new version of their database comparison tool SQL Accord. The new version, 1.3.0 is an enhancement release providing expanded functionality requested by customers.
Among the enhancements are three of the more popular functionality requests: a robust command line interface, XML results export, and greater control over how certain object attributes, like table indexes are compared. A number of minor features have also been added to the product with this release.
The command line interface enhancement allows the tool to be plugged into various build and test automations, like continuous integration, with greater ease. Complete control over how the tool is used is maintained by the use of session files that contain configured settings. By referencing the session file of your choice on the command line you can determine what objects, attirbutes and databases will be compared. Results can be exported from the command line interface in several formats: Excel, PDF, HTML, Text, and XML.
Enhanced Comparison Options allows greater control over how object attributes are compared. For example, for indexes you can now choose to ignore the name of the index and just compare the index definition. This is useful if you find that you are getting false positives because various names have changed without the definition of the item changing. These settings are available for various attributes of Tables, Stored Procedures, Views, and Functions.
SQL Accord is an advanced Microsoft SQL Server database comparison tool focusing on providing software developers, DBAs, quality engineers and other IT pros the ability to determine the differences between two Microsoft SQL Server databases. The tool is known for flexibility, convenience, speed, and unique results display mechanisms. SQL Accord not only performs the comparison operation very quickly but also has many time saving features built in that allow you to conserve precious time by not having to wade through a mountain of inmaterial differences results. A unique GUI results display allows you to look at only the specific aspects of the database that you are interested in, down to the named object and attribute level - a feature not found in other tools.
